This question comes up a lot, and there are two halves to it: does the creator get an alert, and can you avoid appearing as a viewer? Here is the full answer.
Does Tango notify the host? No
Tango does not send a broadcaster any notification when their live is recorded. There is no Snapchat-style screen-recording alert on Tango live streams. Whether you screen-record or use TangoRec, the host gets no "you were recorded" message. (Details in does Tango notify when you record a live.)
So in the sense most people mean - "will they find out I recorded?" - the answer is no.
The catch with screen recording
Screen recording is silent, but to do it you have to open the live and watch it. That puts your username into the room's viewer list, where the host (and others) can see you are present. If your goal is to record without showing up at all, screen recording works against you.
Record without joining the room: TangoRec
TangoRec records the public broadcast in the cloud, so you never have to enter the live yourself:
- Open @tangorec_live_bot
- Send
/watch username - Receive the recorded live as an MP4 in Telegram - without ever joining
Because you are not opening the live on your own device, you are not in the viewer list, you are not commenting, and you are not gifting. The capture happens server-side and lands privately in your Telegram.
Keep it respectful
Recording quietly for personal viewing is one thing; reposting someone's stream is another. Do not redistribute or monetize a creator's live without permission. See is recording a Tango live legal.
Record discreetly now
- Open @tangorec_live_bot
- Send
/watchand a creator's Tango username - Get the live quietly in Telegram
